a take on the traditional spanish painting trope of the bodegon, or a pastoral scene of manual labor and contemplation, but embodied by a contemporary Pachamama figure collecting water from Cajas in Ecuador - the name of the high altitude tundra environment that comes from the Quichua Caxa for "gateway to the snowy mountains' which to me signifies the same drive behind the many urban hot spots known as Bodegas, the drive to dream and hope thought the struggle of dignified labor.
