• a collaboration between @classicalmeme as a model and myself that speaks of our commonly fetishized backgrounds as well as the colonized #Americans, from the #Caribbean to the #Andes. It depicts the #pineapple as a product of colonialism and #maiz as the native gold of the #andean people, juxtaposed with #Moche golden head idols from #Peru and the ever present #monarchbutterfly as a signifier of change and migration • part of a larger series on #colonization and #decolonization that continues to evolve • 🗡🌹✊🏾
