vision of self-governance

a portrait of slain Peruvian activist and indigenous leader Edwin Chota flanked by the Condor and Jaguar and wrapped in the Wiphala, the Andean people's flag - symbols of a struggle for self governance and independence against deforestation, illegal logging companies and state backed private enterprises which are silencing the Amazonian people's plight to protect the jungle. It is estimated that 40% of which is now in direct threat by industry. A loss of this natural regulator of carbon emissions would permanently change our environment for the worst • This piece is dedicated to his memory and to the conscience of all of us who live in the consumer societies that this illegal oil and mining most benefit from.
